Looking for free Sims 4 mods by Cepzid that add something different to an everyday household? These six public downloads cover seated music, activities for children, a more casual way to use a laptop and futuristic kitchen objects. Choose a small interaction change or build a whole storyline around one of the functional additions.
Each section includes an official creator preview, an original download link and the setup notes that matter before installation. Several mods require XML Injector, and the children’s activity mods have specific equipment or conflict notes. Read those details before adding them to an established save.
Access checked October 18, 2026: all six linked posts have public package attachments. We have not tested these mods in-game.
1. Play Violin While Sitting
Give your musician a more relaxed practice scene with seated violin playing. This is a small interaction change that can fit naturally into a family evening or a music-focused storyline. Rather than arranging a pose for a screenshot, you can use the mod’s playing interaction. Keep a violin in your Sim’s inventory before looking for the option, as that is how the creator says to start it.
Details and requirements: Place the violin in your Sim’s inventory. The public post provides Zulf_SittingWhilePlayingViolin.package; it does not list an additional dependency.

2. Kids Can Play Guitar & Play Guitar While Sitting
This updated guitar mod gives children another musical activity and lets both children and adults play while seated. It could be a lovely addition to a household of aspiring performers or a family that spends evenings making music together. The update also addresses the stretched animation when children picked up a guitar. Start with one guitar in the inventory so the game does not randomly choose between several instruments.
Details and requirements: Requires XML Injector. Put a guitar in the Sim’s inventory to access the playing options. The creator recommends keeping only one guitar there. Download the current package from this updated post.

3. Kids Can Cooking Mod (Back Again)
For a child Sim who wants to join in with meal preparation, this revived cooking mod adds a miniature setup. Children can build Homestyle Cooking and Gourmet Cooking skills using the small counter and stove. It gives you a practical starting point for a family cooking storyline, with the child’s own equipment arranged nearby. This roundup links the public base version; the creator also has a separate addition post with its own access conditions.

4. Play Laptop On The Ground
A laptop does not always need to live on a desk in your Sim’s story. This mod lets Sims use one on the ground, opening up a different way to stage an everyday computer moment. It is useful for a household where you want a more casual routine or simply a change from the usual desk setup. Begin from the laptop in the Sim’s inventory and use the interaction described on the creator’s page.
Details and requirements: Requires XML Injector. Put a laptop in the Sim’s inventory and select the Laptop interaction. Compatibility with every third-party CC laptop is not promised by the post.

5. Functional Synthesizer Food and Drink
For a futuristic home, these synthesizers offer a very different approach to meals and drinks. The food unit can produce breakfast, lunch or dinner without ingredients or Cooking skill, while the drink unit provides drinks without a trip to the bar. They could suit a science-fiction household or a technology-filled kitchen. Use the creator’s object names in Build/Buy search when you are ready to place them in your lot.
Details and requirements: Search for FoodForge Cuisine Synthesizer by Arasika and SAM-7 Drink Synthesizer Unit. The food unit is in Refrigerators; the drink unit is in Kitchen Appliances. The public package contains the functional objects.

6. Kids Can Swordsmanship
This activity mod gives child Sims a way to practise swordsmanship with a training dummy and gain the associated skill. The August update adds duels with children or adults and allows adults to mentor them. It could support a fantasy-family storyline where different generations train together. Check the requirements before downloading, and keep the creator’s animation note in mind if you plan to use child-and-adult duels in your screenshots.
Details and requirements: Requires the Royalty & Legacy expansion according to the creator, plus XML Injector. Conflicts with No Skill Spam by Andirz. Known issue: the creator reports odd animation during child/adult duels.

Patch Status and Installation
In the September 29 status post for the September 23 patch, Cepzid reported compatibility for their mods except Spellcaster Addition Modpack. That statement applies to the patch named there; it is not a test report for every later game update. Play Violin While Sitting was posted afterward on October 3.
Download the latest files from the original pages. Install XML Injector where required, using its own installation instructions. Place package files in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods, enable Custom Content and Mods, and enable Script Mods if needed by your dependencies. Restart the game and test one addition at a time in a backed-up save.
Keep the cooking and swordsmanship conflicts in mind. The public download pages are the best place to return for updated files, installation changes and the creator’s current notes.
