Simkatu’s gameplay mods bring extra detail to ordinary Sims 4 routines, from helping a child get ready to choosing an outfit for a special event. These eight free picks cover family care, romantic evenings, social gatherings and a few practical daily habits. Choose the interactions that fit your household rather than adding everything at once.
Below you’ll find the original creator pages, official previews and the main requirements for each mod. Some need XML Injector, others need Lot 51 Core Library, and a few use expansion-specific features. Checking those requirements first makes it easier to pick mods that fit the packs you own.
Public access checked October 9, 2026. Simkatu’s official status page lists all mods as compatible with patch 1.128, dated September 22, 2026. This is the creator’s compatibility statement; these downloads have not been tested in-game here. If your game version differs, check the latest status before installing.
01. Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits
Give your engaged Sims and teens a little more preparation time before their big event. This mod adds wedding and prom outfit try-ons to mirrors, with an option to keep a style as a formal outfit. The main all-lots version is base game compatible and needs XML Injector. Choose one main file; the optional wardrobe-platform add-on requires Get Famous. Incorrect clothing tags can affect generated outfits, so check the creator’s compatibility notes if the results look unusual.
02. Group Announcements
Group Announcements helps a Sim address several familiar people at once instead of repeating the same conversation. It includes gathering Sims, getting their attention, greetings, celebrations and news about life events. The mod needs Lot 51 Core Library and supports children through elders. Most features are base game compatible, while school and university announcements use the relevant packs. It is a useful addition for family gatherings, celebrations or storytelling scenes where everyone should hear the news together.
03. Cuddle While Watching TV
Turn a quiet evening on the sofa into a romantic moment with Cuddle While Watching TV. Both Sims must already be watching television and sitting close together on a regular sofa or bench; sectional sofas are unsupported. The interaction needs XML Injector and is base game compatible. Simkatu adjusted the animation on August 31, 2026. Place the television in front of the sofa, since the creator notes that the animation does not maintain a true TV gaze.
04. Give Medicine
Give Medicine adds a small caregiving action when someone your Sim knows is feeling unwell. Keep medicine in the active Sim’s inventory and have an eligible sick Sim nearby to use the interaction. It supports children through elders and consumes one medicine when used. Get to Work and XML Injector are required. Download only one version: the first treats Get to Work sicknesses, while the second also covers Enchanted by Nature ailments for players with that expansion.
05. Wash Face and Sanitize Hands
Build a more detailed morning routine with face washing at sinks and functional hand sanitizers. The release includes a facial cleanser, portable sanitizer and wall dispenser, found under bathroom accents. It is base game compatible and requires Lot 51 Core Library. Face washing supports teens through elders, while portable sanitizer also supports children. High School Years and Parenthood add pack-specific outcomes. Simkatu updated the cleanser animation on August 31, 2026, so use the current files.
06. Child & Toddler Hair Care
Child and Toddler Hair Care adds brushing and styling interactions that make getting ready feel like part of family life. A familiar teen-to-elder Sim with a nonnegative relationship can help the child or toddler, and the styling interaction offers eight in-game hairstyles. The mod is base game compatible and requires XML Injector. The temporary hairstyle lasts ten in-game hours unless removed earlier. Parenthood adds parenting skill gain, alongside the mod’s social and relationship benefits.
07. Functional Stroller for Infants
Take your infant out for a walk with Simkatu’s functional stroller. The object can go in a Sim’s inventory and comes in six colours, with walking interactions for the adult and activities for the infant. Growing Together and Lot 51 Core Library are required. Returning home is manual: direct the adult to grab the handles and go to a spot near home. Read the creator’s setup and known limitations before playing, especially when adding other compatible stroller meshes.
08. Mirror Selfie
Mirror Selfie adds a photo moment directly to mirrors, including sharing to Simstagram and pose options for teens through elders. Simkatu provides feminine, masculine and mixed gender-neutral versions, so follow the original post’s file choices rather than installing competing main versions. The mod is base game compatible and needs XML Injector; Get Famous adds fame benefits. The main files received tuning fixes on August 31, 2026. The accessory phone appears automatically during the interaction.
Installation Notes
Download the current files from Simkatu’s original Patreon posts and place the packages in Documents → Electronic Arts → The Sims 4 → Mods. Enable Custom Content and Mods and restart the game. Install required libraries separately and enable script mods for script-based dependencies. Keep script files no deeper than one subfolder.
For mods with alternative main files, choose the version that matches your packs and preferred behaviour. Add optional files only when you own their required packs. Read Simkatu’s installation and troubleshooting guidance.
